Product Description
Delicate, tender and full of natural flavour, Santa Catarina Tuna Fillets in Olive Oil are a fine example of traditional Portuguese conservas. The carefully prepared skipjack tuna has a soft texture and subtle flavour, complemented by olive oil and a little salt.
Enjoy straight from the tin with crusty bread and a squeeze of lemon, add to a classic Niçoise salad, or fold through warm pasta with capers, tomatoes and fresh herbs. The tender fillets are equally good served simply with new potatoes and a little of the oil from the tin.
Caught individually by pole and line in the Atlantic, the tuna is hand-prepared and packed by Santa Catarina on São Jorge Island in the Azores, Portugal. This traditional fishing method and careful preparation are central to the cannery's approach, producing a premium tinned tuna that needs very little done to it.
