Founder & Head Fishmonger

Founded Hamiltons Fish in 2003 after more than two decades in the seafood trade. Still hand-selects the finest fish daily from Brixham Market.

Ben Hamilton

Operations & Digital Manager

Joined Hamiltons Fish in 2006 and now oversees operations, technology, and customer experience. Passionate about blending traditional fishmongery with modern digital innovation.

Hamiltons Fish is a proud family-run business rooted in the traditions of the South West’s fishing industry.

Founded over 20 years ago by Kevin and Angela Hamilton, the business began with a simple goal – to offer fresh brixham fish direct to customers.

Kevin, who started his career working for national seafood wholesalers, combined his knowledge of the trade with Angela’s support and determination to build a business based on honesty, quality, and hard work.

From early mornings at Brixham Market to making deliveries from the back of a van, Hamiltons Fish grew one customer at a time.

As demand grew beyond our local area, their son Ben saw both an opportunity and a challenge.

Many people across the UK wanted access to top-quality fish but struggled find anything truly fresh.

Ben helped shape the next stage of our journey – bringing Hamiltons Fish online, introducing nationwide delivery, and making it easier than ever for customers to enjoy the best of Brixham wherever they live.

He now oversees operations and digital management, ensuring every customer receives the same personal, friendly service that has defined us from the start.

Kevin’s daughter Laura later joined the team, bringing a meticulous eye for quality and a background in production.

She now leads our quality control, order preparation, and smokehouse – ensuring every product meets our highest standards.

Her expertise has helped our smoked range gain recognition, including a Gold Award for Smoked Haddock at the Food & Drink Devon Awards.

Over the years, the business has been supported by a number of dedicated pairs of hands, all helping us grow while keeping our values at the heart of what we do.

And today, the next generation is already getting involved – during school holidays, Ben’s son Liam plays an ever-helpful role in the day-to-day running of the business.

We remain a close-knit family team with strong local roots – buying direct from Brixham Market, preparing everything fresh to order, and combining traditional skills with thoughtful innovation.
