Product Description
Delicate, sweet and understated, wild megrim sole is one of the South West's lesser-known flat fish. With fine white flesh and a subtle flavour, it offers much of the character of more familiar flat fish while remaining versatile in the kitchen.
This is a fish that rewards restraint. Pan-fry gently in butter, bake with lemon and herbs, or serve with simple seasonal vegetables. The flesh cooks quickly and flakes delicately, making it a good choice for lighter meals and uncomplicated cooking.
Our wild megrim sole fillets are sourced through the Brixham Fish Market auction, where they are landed from the South West coast. The 300g pack always contains two portions, though depending on the size of the fish this may be two larger fillets or up to four smaller ones. They are prepared to order by our fishmongers, with nothing sitting in stock, and sent out fresh on your chosen delivery day. Always fresh and never previously frozen, so you can freeze it at home if needed.
Serve simply with brown butter and capers, or alongside new potatoes and seasonal greens.
