Product Description

Rich, oily and full of flavour, mackerel is one of the finest fish in British waters. Bold enough to stand up to strong accompaniments, it is also good enough to eat with very little done to it. Few fish are as fresh-tasting when they are in season.

Grill skin-side up for a blistered, caramelised finish, pan-fry for a crisp result, or cook over a barbecue where the smokiness suits the fish well. Mackerel is quick to cook and benefits from acidic accompaniments. Gooseberry, rhubarb, horseradish or a simple dressed salad all work well alongside it.
