Our Fish
What makes your fish so fresh?
›
We source our fish daily from the Brixham Fish Market auction and prepare each order fresh to order. This means your fish has not been sitting in storage. It is selected, prepared, and packed specifically for your chosen delivery day.
Where does your fish come from?
›
The majority of our fish comes directly from Brixham Fish Market, with a focus on British day boats where possible. This allows us to offer some of the freshest fish available in the UK.
Has your fish ever been frozen?
›
No. All of our fresh fish is never previously frozen. It is delivered fresh and can be frozen at home if you wish, with guidance provided on the label.
Why don’t you hold stock?
›
We work differently to most fishmongers. By sourcing to order, we ensure your fish is as fresh as possible rather than being stored for days before sale.
How long will my fish last?
›
Your fish will arrive fresh with a use-by date on the label. Most products will keep well in the fridge for several days and can also be frozen on the day of delivery.
Is your fish sustainably sourced?
›
We prioritise responsible sourcing and work closely with trusted fishermen and suppliers. Much of our fish comes from day boats using lower-impact fishing methods.
Packaging
How is my fish packaged?
›
Your fish is prepared fresh to order, vacuum-packed, and clearly labelled.
Your order is then packed into a sturdy branded cardboard box with eco-friendly wool insulation and frozen gel packs, designed to keep the contents chilled for up to 48 hours.
How is the fish kept cold during delivery?
›
We use insulated packaging with chilled gel packs to maintain a consistent temperature throughout transit.
How long will the packaging keep the fish cold?
›
Our packaging is designed to keep your fish cold for up to 48 hours, providing peace of mind even in the unlikely event of a delay.
Is your packaging recyclable?
›
Yes. We use recyclable cardboard boxes along with eco-friendly insulation materials wherever possible.
What happens if there is a delay with delivery?
›
Delays are rare, but our packaging is designed to keep your fish safe during transit. If you have any concerns when your order arrives, simply get in touch and we will help.
