Are these prawns fresh or frozen?

Our cooked and raw peeled prawns are dispatched frozen, but may begin to defrost slightly during delivery. They should be refrigerated on arrival and consumed within 2 days.

How are the prawns packaged?

Orders are vacuum-packed and clearly labelled, then packed in an insulated recyclable box with frozen gel packs to keep your prawns cold in transit.

Can I choose my delivery day?

Yes — you can select your preferred delivery date at checkout. We deliver nationwide Wednesday to Saturday, offer local delivery every Thursday, and also provide click & collect from our Bovey Tracey HQ.

Can I re-freeze the prawns?

No — once defrosted, prawns should not be re-frozen. Please store in the fridge and enjoy within 2 days for best quality.

I have been trying to get seafood, in particular crab, delivered fresh for a very long time. All suppliers deliver pre-frozen products sold legally as fresh. Having spent a lot of my childhood on the south coast I know the vast difference in flavour between the two. When the delivery arrived I was absolutely delighted with the dressed crab and crab meat pots. The entire order was top quality (plaice, sardines, bass). I cannot recommend Hamiltons enough and will be using them on a regular basis from now.
